Dr Fumiaki Obata’s visit Dr Fumiaki Obata, Lecturer at the University of Tokyo and a friend who I got to know in the UK (Dr Obata was a postdoc at Alex Gould’s lab at tha time), visited our lab at ShanghaiTech University. Dr Obata is an expert in the study of the influences of diet […]
We are recruiting a new member and students to our lab at ShanghaiTech University. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who has a strong background in Drosophila and PhD students who are interested in working with us to investigate the molecular mechanism integrating the cell cycle to the developmental and homeostatic processes of multicellular organisms. More detail […]
The Kimata Lab is moving from Cambridge to set out on a new journey in Shanghai in China. We are currently recruiting a postdoctoral scientist and a research assistant, who want to join us on the new journey in the rapidly growing research in China. If you are interested, please see the detail here: Research Associate, Postdoctoral Researcher. All nationalities are […]
The time has finally come. The first PhD student in our lab and our long-term colleague, Francesco Mechini, are finally leaving our lab to pursue his research career in the pharmaceutical industry. He is taking up a senior research position at one of the giants, AstraZeneca. It is sad to miss him in our lab but it is […]
Today our new paper with Torcato as the first author has been published back to back with a paper from the Mlodzik lab in Developmental Cell. In this paper, we report a novel function of the APC/C in the regulation of the Wingless/Wnt signalling pathway in the Drosophila eye. We found that the APC/C targets […]
Today our first PhD student Francesco successfully defended his PhD thesis. Congratulations, Dr Meghini!
Our ERASMUS student, Giulia Botti, has finished her internship and has gone back to Bologna, Italy. Giulia will soon submit her master thesis based on her results.
Our postdoc, Torcato Martins, and his wife, Filipa, has had a baby, Miguel Torcato. Congratulations!
Our PhD student, Francesco Meghini, has successfully submitted his PhD thesis. The thesis includes the results that we published in our recent paper with him as one of the first authors. Francesco will be back to the lab, while getting ready for his viva. Well done and good luck, Fra!
